What services do London Drone Works provide? 

We provide aerial imagery & footage services, including roof inspections, aerial photography & cinematography, development monitoring, structural condition checks, sponsorship imaging, promotional advertising and sales content.

What are the advantages of using a drone?

It's the safest, fastest and cheapest method to gain imagery of an area which is difficult to access. Our drones allow you to get the bird's eye view from the tallest of buildings to largest of sites.

How accurate are your drone images?

we can gather image very close to a point of interest, using the lens of the drone, we can see small details that a surveyor or construction designer would use for writing a report to a client and drone with accuracy that can be as small as 20mm, however this really depends on the size of the building and information required.

What image quality can I expect?

We use high end, top of the Range DJI Drones so that we can capture a high resolution image from the same sensor for the video we capture in either HD up to 4K & 5.1K at various frame rates.

What format do I get the data in?

We generally provide the image data in JPEG / DNG (RAW) formats and the video in MP4/MOV or AVI.

Can you edit the Videos? 

Yes, we are experienced in post production and graphics and will do our best to meet your needs.

What happens to the collected data? 

Your data is protected under our privacy policy and won't be shared with third parties. However unless agreed otherwise we may use the images and video for our marketing purposes.

What can RICS Building Surveyors get from you?

Using our high-tech equipment and crew we can help surveyors do their job more efficiently and productively. They can quickly get information for assessing a roof inspection, dilapidation inspection, condition report and defects inspections, buyer’s survey reports and insurance claims among others.

How long does it take to get my images or video?

We can provide image and video on the day if fast turnarounds are required, otherwise within 24hours depending on the complexity of the project.

How high can you fly?

Our remote Pilot’s GVC qualification & CAA OA allow us to fly to a maximum height of 120Meters (400ft), however depending on the location and agreement with any required authorities this could be extended if for a taller building.

Can you fly at night?

Yes our qualification and risk assessment allows us to complete drone operations at night.

What is the maximum aerial time of the drones?

There are many factors involved with this answer, including the weather, wind speed size of survey location, which drone is being used, how much data is required. But on average you can get between 25 -35 minutes of flight time for each session, however we can keep the drone up all day if needed with our extra power charge sources.

Can you fly inside? 

Yes, we can fly our drones for interior shooting locations for  if there is enough space. we have guards that protect interior objects and walls and would assess the area of flight first and plan around the space provided, safety being our number 1 priority.

Is there any area you cannot fly in?

Yes, by law we cannot operate close to any airports, military bases or prisons without prior permissions and limited time slots, however If there is any permission required at a location near to one of these, we can make all the necessary arrangements with relevant authorities.

Are power lines or pylons an obstacle for you to operate?

No, you don't have to worry about anything like that. Our professional team conducts a risk assessment and avoids any potential hazards.

How long does a flight take? 

This depends on the project requirements. A small property shoot may be completed in 30 minutes however a warehouse or larger building or piece of land may take a few hours.

How much does it cost? 

It's cheaper than using conventional methods. We will give you a competetive quote after receiving the address of the site and the required information required

What happens if you have to cancel the flight due to weather conditions?

If we cannot fly in heavy winds, rain or poor visibility, the flight will be postponed at no charge for the next suitable day.

Is your team fully licensed and insured?

Yes, our team is fully trained and certified (PfCO/GVC) with a CAA Operational Authorisation to operate. Next to multiple safety measurements we also have full comprehensive public liability insurance in place.

 

Do you operate outside the UK?

No, we do not currently operate outside of the UK.

How soon can we schedule a flight? 

Just contact us and we will find the next available date. Usually we can start within a day or so, depending if we are required to ask for special permissions which can be up to a month with complex projects.

Are London Drone Works Operating a Covid-19 Safe environment?

The safety and welfare of both our clients and our team is at the top of our priority list. All of our work is carried out with safe distances and our team are always equipped with appropriate Covid Secure PPE to protect them, our clients and the public if required.

Can clients watch the flight taking place?

Yes, for most of our flights we generally get the client or customer involved for input and feedback, however this need not be the case if inconvenient.
